Connection Crisis: The Power of the Available Spouse

In today’s episode, we are discussing the pivotal concept of being aptly available within your marriage. Our discussion touches upon five essential keys aimed at enriching and deepening the connection between spouses. Regardless of the current state of your relationship, these keys offer a valuable framework for fostering a thriving and enduring connection and will ensure you the awesome marriage you desire.

Be Consistently Intentional

The first key to being available in marriage is intentionality. It is so important to maintain consistency and intention when it comes to nurturing your marriage. This involves making deliberate and sustained efforts to invest time, attention, and care into your relationship, even during periods of relative ease and contentment. Remember, love is spelled T-I-M-E.

Stay Curious About Your Spouse

Healthy and happy marriages thrive on mutual openness and curiosity. It’s important to remain inquisitive about your partner, constantly seeking to discover new facets of their personality, interests, and dreams. This element of curiosity serves as a conduit for personal growth within the relationship, continual discovery, and mutual understanding. I notice new things about Shaun all the time. What new things do you notice about your spouse?

Express Gratitude and Appreciation

Articulating your appreciation for your spouse is another fundamental key to being available in marriage and deepening your connection. I underline the importance of expressing gratitude and admiration openly and sincerely . . . not just thinking happy thoughts or thoughts of gratitude, but saying them. By vocalizing your appreciation, you affirm the value and significance of your spouse in your life and strengthen the foundation of your relationship.

Time-Block Time Together

The concept of time-blocking involves carving out dedicated moments to connect with your spouse within your busy schedules. Whether it’s a recurring date night, brief daily check-ins, or enjoying shared hobbies, these scheduled blocks of time signify a commitment to prioritizing your relationship. When you are available in marriage, you understand that time-blocking goes a long way to fortify the emotional and relational connection between you and your spouse. It ensures that you don’t allow time to pass without being intentional about spending it together.

Pray Together

The final key encapsulates the power of power. Lots of couples pray. Few pray together. Our busy schedules often make it challenging to find time to pray together, but prayer is our secret weapon. When Shaun and I pray together, it bonds us like nothing else. You will find your unity deepen and your shared faith and dedication will become more enjoyable as you pray together.

By embracing these keys to connection and integrating them into your marriage, you can pave the way toward being more available in marriage and creating deeper understanding, enduring love, and unwavering support within your relationship. These keys offer a roadmap towards fortifying your connection in marriage and building a unified partnership,

In conclusion, the path to being aptly available in marriage is a journey not only characterized by presence and attention but also by ongoing effort, intentionality, and a shared commitment to nurturing deep relational bonds. These keys serve as guiding compass points, charting a course towards
