The Amazing Power of Belief
Several years ago, a good friend and I were having a conversation about our life’s dreams and the power of belief. We’ve known each other for a long time and have always championed each other’s successes. “Dana, I’ve changed. I’ve been spoiled for the ordinary,” she told me straight-faced.
So that explained it. I’d seen her growth in her business ventures and had secretly wondered what had changed in her. How did she go from working for just above minimum wage to launching her own projects with such passion? I mean, it was like she was a completely different person!
We’re both avid readers, but she told me that she had begun reading material from business gurus such as Robert Kyosaki, John Maxwell and other heavy hitters. I knew that “Readers are leaders and leaders are readers,” but here I saw it happening before my very eyes. It was as if my friend was “metamorphosizing” before my very eyes. She had gotten hold of some life-changing, or should I say paradigm-changing material and was running with it. Due to the power of belief, her vision was so close at hand she could almost taste it. And she was such a believer in her dreams that I could taste it too! “I’m going to travel the world!” she exclaimed.
And I believed it. I believed it because I knew she wasn’t just talking. She was literally prophesying her future into existence.
Fast forward to today and my friend is traveling the world. She’s also opened up her own business. Her dream came to life! All because of the power of belief.
The Power of Belief in Action
I talk about faith, dreams and belief a lot. Some look at these terms in a religious sense and dismiss them. But they are more than that. These universal principles are at play in the lives of men and women, boys and girls all over the world—religious or not.
Take my five-year old, for instance. Just today I was outside throwing him some (really bad) pitches. At five, even he understands the power of belief and positive confession. “Keep your eye on the ball,” he murmured under his breath. “You got this,” he continued. And you know what? He hit the ball! Even though I wasn’t throwing great pitches, he believed. Now, some people might say it was just “luck.” These types of people equate faith and the power of belief into some sort of happenstance. But we know better, don’t we?
The power of belief is so key to success that hundreds—if not thousands—of books have been written on the topic. And people like medical professionals, athletes, small business owners—and yes even us internet and network marketers— are buying in . . . because we believe! So tell me, what are your dreams? How are you moving in the direction of your goals? What do you really believe? What are you speaking? Because no matter what anyone says, dreams only come true for those who possess the power of belief.
